Meteor by Stewart Coffin / Mark McCallum

Lot 6477 - Rik's Cube Kit

Est. value: $250

Winning bid: $490

Lot Closed

Rik's Cube Kit by Rik van Grol / Tom Lensch

Booklet

Designer: Rik van Grol
Maker: Tom Lensch

3x3x3 cube: 4.5cm

Notes: Use the three non-planar tetracubes and three of the 17 non-planar pentacubes (each etched with an identifying letter), to make a 3x3x3 cube. There are 190 sets that will form the cube, ranging from 1 to 10 possible assemblies. A single dicube is included, intended to solidly pack the 11x3x3 box; however this leads to an extended set of problems using five pentacubes plus the dicube! The lid is etched the full instructions and a list of all the sets that can form a cube. Also includes a microSD card containing a BurrTools file, copies of two CFF articles related to the puzzle, solutions for all 190 subsets (574 total assemblies), and a list of the 2,858 extended sets of 5 pentacubes and their solutions. A printed booklet is included (see photo), which also lists all of the solutions.

Lot 6478 - 25-Piece Packing Puzzle

Est. value: $125

Winning bid: $535

Lot Closed

25-Piece Packing Puzzle by David Singmaster / Tom Lensch

Designer: David Singmaster
Maker: Tom Lensch

Size: 13x6x5cm

Notes: Pack the 25 identical blocks into the box. This is not a "melting block" puzzle, rather it is the smallest non-trivial (non-cleavable) dissection of a rectangular prism into identical blocks (22 related assemblies). Bottom of box stamped with TL logo.

Lot 6479 - 44-Piece Packing Puzzle

Est. value: $150

Winning bid: $790

Lot Closed

44-Piece Packing Puzzle by David Klarner / Tom Lensch

Designer: David Klarner
Maker: Tom Lensch

Size: 14x8x5.5cm

Notes: Pack the 44 identical blocks into the box. This is not a "melting block" puzzle, but rather it is non-trivial dissection of a rectangular prism into identical blocks. Considering that all the pieces are the same size, this is reasonably challenging; four distinct solutions. Bottom of box stamped with TL logo.

Lot 6508 - L Burr

Est. value: $400

Winning bid: $851

Lot Closed

L Burr by Junichi Yananose / Mr Puzzle Australia

Inscription

Designer: Junichi Yananose
Maker: Mr Puzzle Australia

Stick length: 13/5cm

Notes: Very challenging six-piece burr. From the Mr Puzzle Australia blog:

Junichi thinks the L Burr is one of his best designs ever; in his words "one of the most diabolical". Considering how many puzzles he's designed over the years (and we’re sure a few of those remain unsolved around the world) this is a big statement!

It's only 4 moves to remove the first piece, but that’s when the fun starts. This puzzle has more twists and turns than you can imagine.

Limited edition of 30. Made from rose alder with Queensland silver ash splines; Excellent condition and movement. One piece signed, stamped with Mr Puzzle logo, and inscribed "NO. xx/30". Read the full blog post for more information.
