Lot Closed

Rare Golem Heart (black resin) by Robert Yarger / Lewis Evans

Display Frame

Designer: Robert Yarger
Maker: Lewis Evans

Size: 5x5x5cm

Notes: This is a one-of-a-kind black version of the Stickman Golem Heart. The puzzle design is similar to the Stickman Snowflake, but includes a confounding internal core that restricts the possible moves. Panels made form Fosseilite (crushed rock and cast resin composite); central gem is red acrylic. Includes presentation frame (see photo).

Donor: Robert Yarger and Lewis Evans

Dedication:

Eric Fuller - I have yet to meet a man with more integrity. He will be missed. My only condolence is that he lived more in his short time on this planet than most do in a lifetime. He left this world better than he found it.

Lot 6471 - Fermat Meets Fuller

Est. value: $40

Winning bid: $133

Lot Closed

Fermat Meets Fuller by Volker Latussek / Pelikan

Designer: Volker Latussek
Maker: Pelikan

Size: 8x8x4cm

Notes: Pack six right-triangle prisms completely inside the restricted-opening box. Notes from Dr. Latussek:

"With FERMAT I wanted to learn how triangular parts interact with one of my typical boxes. When I talked to Eric Fuller about this, I came up with the idea of dividing a cube into six triangular parts and placing this cubic dissection in one of my typical boxes as well: FERMAT MEETS FULLER was born. Pelikan Puzzles had a lot of patience with me, because it took several prototypes to implement a very exciting solution for me. Now I wish you the same feeling."

The puzzle is used with four corners slightly chipped (was available for hands-on solving during IPP review of Design Competition entries).

Lot 6472 - Stuffing Burr

Est. value: $30

Winning bid: $162

Lot Closed

Stuffing Burr by Volker Latussek / Pelikan

Designer: Volker Latussek
Maker: Pelikan

Stick length: 7.5cm

Notes: Arrange the four pieces so that all of the notches are filled; three known solutions. Pelikan notes from William Steedly:

"Once again Volker Latussek has managed to create an interesting puzzle with relatively simple pieces. Unlike regular burrs, Stuffing Burr comes disassembled without any hint of a final shape nor any indication of whether notches come together or are filled with other parts, and therein lies the challenge. Finding even one of the two solutions took a while, and I’m still searching for the second. Stuffing Burr is a great two-for-one value!"

The puzzle is in near-new condition (was available for hands-on solving during IPP review of Design Competition entries).

Eric once called me out of the blue and said... " I just found out today that cockfighting is two male chickens fighting. I just wasted six months training." Then he said goodbye and hung up. What a quirky sense of humor. Miss that guy. I'm sure it's not very appropriate but that's a fond memory I have.
