Notes: This is a one-of-a-kind black version of the Stickman Golem Heart. The puzzle design is similar to the Stickman Snowflake, but includes a confounding internal core that restricts the possible moves. Panels made form Fosseilite (crushed rock and cast resin composite); central gem is red acrylic. Includes presentation frame (see photo).

Lot 6450 - Hybrid Clutch Box (AL core)

Notes: This is a structural redesign of the original Clutch Box which won the Puzzlers' Award in the 2003 Puzzle Design Competition. The hybrid design has a wooden exterior surrounded a metal core. As expected, the mechanism and construction is perfect: smooth and precise. Once solved, the core can be completely disassembled (another puzzle!) to reveal the mechanism. Exterior made from pao ferro, bubinga, and Macassar ebony; core made from aluminum, brass, and steel. Some spare parts are included. "With FERMAT I wanted to learn how triangular parts interact with one of my typical boxes. When I talked to Eric Fuller about this, I came up with the idea of dividing a cube into six triangular parts and placing this cubic dissection in one of my typical boxes as well: FERMAT MEETS FULLER was born. Pelikan Puzzles had a lot of patience with me, because it took several prototypes to implement a very exciting solution for me. Now I wish you the same feeling."

The puzzle is used with four corners slightly chipped (was available for hands-on solving during IPP review of Design Competition entries).

"Once again Volker Latussek has managed to create an interesting puzzle with relatively simple pieces. Unlike regular burrs, Stuffing Burr comes disassembled without any hint of a final shape nor any indication of whether notches come together or are filled with other parts, and therein lies the challenge. Finding even one of the two solutions took a while, and I’m still searching for the second. Stuffing Burr is a great two-for-one value!"
